Applewood Plumbing Warming Up with Furnace Checks for Charity

Stay warm this fall and help local charities with Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric’s Furnace Checks for Charity program, September 1-30, 2021.

Homeowners can schedule a system check for $ 99, which includes a 14-point inspection worth $ 199. Payments for these inspections are made direct to Colorado Pet Pantry or Firehouse Quilts of Colorado, the two charities selected to benefit from the program.

Colorado Pet Pantry is a pet food bank that aims to reduce the number of homeless pets by improving families’ ability to care for them. The Tafel plans to feed 70,000 pets this year.

Firehouse Quilts of Colorado volunteers produce and donate more than 1,000 quilts to fire departments, ambulances, and medical centers annually. Of the 1,000 quilts, 90% are blankets for traumatized children that they keep to calm and comfort them for years to come.

This is the 10th anniversary of the Furnace Checks for Charity program, which has raised thousands of dollars for each charity and raised nearly $ 25,000 over the past decade.

Applewood recommends regular maintenance of the heating system to increase the longevity, efficiency and effectiveness of home stoves. With regular maintenance, stoves usually last between 15 and 30 years.
