The man was hired to tear down the back of a storm-damaged house, remove and replace a large window, and replace a downspout, gutters, drain, architrave, skirting boards, skylights and roofing sheeting.

A month later, he was asked to install gutters and roofs for a total of $ 16,300.

In November 2018, a downpour caused the gutter to overflow and water to run down the inside of a wall.

Another storm about six months later caused further property damage.

As a result of the work, mold developed in the house and the plasterboard and lighting fixtures were damaged.

The man was given a 24 month good conduct guarantee without conviction. He was also sentenced to pay $ 800 to the court fund and $ 500 in legal costs.
