Bexar Co Offers Assist Those Still Without Water Pipe Repair

SAN ANTONIO – Last week, Bexar County launched a reimbursement program of up to $ 1,500 per household to save Bexar County’s residents the cost of burst pipes and plumbing after the winter storm.

The county has distributed over 40,000 cases of water in suburbs that don’t yet have running water, but officials now want to do more.

Officials have found that residents in remote county areas are more likely to have difficulty getting a plumber to remote locations, and in some cases water supplies coupled with private wells make plumbing difficult, especially if there is a shortage of available plumbers during this time.

The county will now dispatch a plumber and pay up to $ 1,500 for parts and labor.

Those ineligible for the Bexar County’s plumbing assistance program are encouraged to contact SAWS or the City of San Antonio for additional plumbing assistance programs. FEMA also provides disaster relief through Disasterassistance.gov.

Residents can click the “I need a plumber” form on the Bexar County website.

The number for support is 210-631-5000. It is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
