Earlier this year, Magnolia City Council approved the refinancing of a 1999 water resources bond from 3.5 percent to 2.18 percent and extended the payments for an additional two years to generate the additional $ 1.5 million that are required to finance the management replacement.

The total cost of replacing the line, along with the money still due for the 1999 bond issue, is $ 2,289,902.

The bond is now due to be repaid in December 2034.

The winning bid for the line replacement was submitted by RBIS LLC from TEXarkana. The technical work is carried out by AL Franks Engineering.

The new lines will be laid in city ditches. If private property is affected during the exchange of the line, the damage will be repaired by the city.
