Property owners in need of a water pipe replacement will be contacted regarding the program. The offer runs for three years, after which a grant of up to US $ 1,500 is offered.

Homeowners who replaced their senior service line after January 1, 2019 can request a refund of up to $ 2,500, the city said.

All of Sarnia’s lead water lines are scheduled to be replaced over the next two years at a total cost of $ 2.12 million.

About 670 service lines still to be tested that should be completed by 2022, employees said.
