Cleaning: Mrs Hinch fans £1 hack for removing hair from the plughole

Ms. Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, gained popularity after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and television. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.2 million followers on Instagram. Now their fans have started their own social media groups devoted to cleaning and tidying up tips.

In one of the groups, a user asked how to remove hair from the stopper.

Kerry Bull asked, “My daughter has a lot of hair.

“Your bathroom sink takes a while to drain and is starting to smell.

“Obviously clogged with hair. Suggestions please. Sink Unblocker doesn’t work. Thanks very much.”

Natalie Louise said, “Tube of Veet down the plughole.”

Lynda O’Reilly replied, “I put the Nair hair removal cream down the drain and my daughter left it for half an hour.

“I tried. It works, press the plug and let it set.

“It worked for me and then washed away.”

Sheila Dalton replied, “Depilatory cream, pour it into the hole.”

Jenny Mason said, “Depilatory cream in the plug hole.”

Dawn Wood replied, “I use cheap hair removal cream, press the whole tube down, leave it on for as long as possible, and then rinse it off.”

Stephenie Kelly said, “Has she tried caustic soda crystals?

“Pour a fair bit down the drain and let it sit for a couple of hours, then pour really hot water down the drain.”

Elizabeth Cooke-Quigley replied, “Caustic soda, it melts everything in the drain and cleans it completely.”

Danielle Smith said, “Metal hangers to remove hair, then white vinegar and lemon juice to remove odors.”
