Courthouse closed for sewer pipe replacement | News

The Davis County courthouse was closed on Monday March 15 while the water was turned off while a sewer pipe was being replaced.

The construction of a new men’s room in the basement and the renovation of the women’s room are underway to meet ADA compliance standards.

When workers were digging under the floor to install a new sewer pipe in the men’s room and connect it to the existing pipe under the women’s room, they discovered a clay tile pipe that was leaking underground sewage.

The workers hoped to complete the installation of the new pipe on Monday.

The project to build and convert toilets precedes the construction of a new disabled entrance on the north side of the courthouse.
