Digital First: City of Vicksburg hires Texas company for water system study

VICKSBURG, miss. (WJTV) – The city of Vicksburg hired a Texan company to study the city’s water system and Warren County’s five water districts.

According to the Vicksburg Post, the company is Trilogy Engineering Services out of Houston, Texas. The company will study the city’s water treatment facility on Haining Road, the water distribution system, and future system requirements.

Executives said the company is expected to deliver its report by June 7, 2021.

The study was conducted after the city of Vicksburg suffered a water outage in mid-February due to winter storms. Mayor George Flaggs Jr. said he wanted to improve the city’s water system to prevent further problems.

Trilogy Engineering representatives outlined their plan during a meeting on Tuesday. Their goal is to complete the study in 90 days and they will make their recommendations for any corrections.

The leaders said the recommendations would be included in the city’s 10-year capital improvement plan and a final report.
