Eastbound lanes of W. Napoleon closed temporarily after heavy rains burst sewer pipe | News

The eastbound West Napoleon Avenue lanes between Clearview Parkway and Transcontinental Drive are closed until further notice after a pipe burst due to heavy rainfall.

A spokesman for Jefferson Parish said rainwater created high pressure in a 66-inch main line that burst at 10:30 a.m.

On Wednesday morning, water shot into the air, some of which drained into the canal.

The hole has been mended temporarily as the parish crews assess the problem and wait for the necessary components for a permanent repair.
