ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) – St. John’s County Fire Rescue was busy rescuing both a deaf dog and duckling from storm drains on March 21.
DOG RESCUE:
Yesterday morning, SJCFR and SJCSO responded to a call from a dog that was stuck in a drainpipe. The owner stated that his visually impaired and deaf dog mistakenly came out of the house and was missing. They located him in the pipe and called for help. Motor 14, Squad 4, and USAR 4 arrived and found the dog to be in the center of the drain pipe. The crews work about two hours to get him out. He was scared and tired, but not hurt. He was happy to be reunited with his family! Great teamwork guys !!!
DUCKLING IN DISTRESS:
E10 was called today to help a duckling in need! When the crews arrived, they found a duckling in the storm drain and Mama Duck was walking up and down with her other ducklings nearby. The duckling was rescued from the storm drain and reunited with its mother and siblings! Good job guys!
