When the water freezes in the plumbing at the Pleasant Valley Playgroup, it usually thaws before everyone arrives, but that wasn’t the case on Monday.

Playgroup president Sheree Stout said the pipes had frozen about twice in the last three years she was in charge.

“They usually thaw when everyone gets there,” said Stout.

She said because there was no running water, the playgroup had to be canceled according to the Department of Education’s guidelines that a playgroup or early childhood education center must have running water.
