Frozen Water Pipes in Ignace an Issue for Many Residents

IGNACE – Frozen pipes in Ignace Ward were a problem. The recent cold snap is the reason local residents have problems with water.

Ignace’s public works department has seen an increase in calls regarding frozen water pipes.

Before your lines are actually frozen … there are some signs to look out for to hopefully avoid the inevitable:

  • You will have a dramatic drop in water pressure
  • You will see black spots or particles in your water or on the bottom of the toilet bowl

As a member of the municipality, your first point of contact is the municipal office at 934-2202. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., staff are available to answer your calls. The public works emergency number is 220-0888 for calls outside of business hours.
