Still, many households in suburban towns and areas of unincorporated Bexar County are without water and, according to official sources, have difficulty finding plumbers due to their remote location.

According to official figures, to date the county has distributed more than 40,000 cases of water in these areas alone.

Starting Friday, city and county officials launched the second phase of the plumbing aid program, which aims to help households by connecting them to plumbers and reducing repair costs.

“With 46 water service providers in Bexar County, there are many who don’t qualify for the SAWS / City of San Antonio relief program and still don’t have running water,” said Rebeca Clay-Flores, District 1 agent. “The county is going to have one Post plumbers and pay up to $ 1,500 for pipe / plumbing repair parts and labor. “
