Harry Clark Plumbing PSL Program Sewer Compliance Update in Oakland and Piedmont

Harry Clark Plumbing Oakland and Berkeley

Harry Clark Plumbing & Heating Inc. is pleased to provide the latest update on channel compliance for the PSL program throughout the Bay Area starting August 2013. Although Harry Clark Plumbing has completed more PSL certifications than any other contractor, some have quite a few frustrations.

Below are some of the challenges the company has faced and examples of how to manage them in the future:

On a plumbing, heating, and sewer inspection assignment on a property in Berkeley, the sewer was an older clay pipe and not a test candidate. The on-site technician gave the existing owner a price for a trenchless replacement. Months later the property was sold and Harry Clark Plumbing received the work to obtain the Certificate of Conformity.

When the contractor applied for approval, they found that the property was actually in Oakland, even though the mailing address is Berkeley. At Berkeley, sewer compliance covers the sewer from home to sewer. In this case, the main line was in the middle of a busy street and was deep. The price was considerably higher.

Another problem arose with a sewer ejection system. In general, compliance only affects the gravity portion of the page. For this special task, the sewage pump pipe was led to the sewer system. In this case the line was excluded.

The biggest challenge for a plumber like Harry Clark is that two properties are connected to a side sewer. A property is being sold and repairs are being carried out on the adjacent property. Neighbors won’t be happy. Both properties must match.

Working with owners and officials, Harry Clark is committed to resolving any issues in order to obtain the Certificate of Conformity.

All sewer companies are not created equal. Contractors who work in an unsafe manner, do not pay employee compensation, liability insurance, or undocumented workers put customers and their agents at risk. In the case of the contractor’s trucks, the contractor’s company name and license number must be clearly visible.
