The Montgomery County sheriff’s office identified the man the agency says stole backflow preventer from homes in early May.

The 31-year-old Alexander Long from Houston is wanted for theft, according to the sheriff’s office.

On May 5, an unknown man wearing an orange reflective vest and driving a blue Nissan Altima was reported to have stolen backflow preventer from several houses in the Legends Ranch in the spring, according to the sheriff’s office.

Patrol MPs collected evidence, including video surveillance, from victims. The sheriff’s detectives traced the evidence to a Houston address where the Altima was found. Evidence from the car led to Long being identified as the suspected culprit, according to the sheriff’s office.

An arrest warrant for Long has been issued, the sheriff’s office found.

Anyone with information on Long’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 936-760-5800 or Multi-County Crime Stoppers 1-800-392-STOP (7867) at 21A135399.
