Houston Texans players partner with local plumbing company to provide free repairs

HOUSTON – A trio of Houston Texans have teamed up with a local plumber to do free repairs after last month’s winter frost.

Former Houston Texan Chester Pitts, along with Texans Whitney Mercilus and Justin Reid, donated $ 30,000 to repair homes across Houston.

“When people are in need, try to find a way to meet the need. Take her back to the right and let her water flow through her house, ”said Pitts.

Pitts received a call from a friend, Michael Amaro. Amaro is a plumber and noticed that many of the people who turned to him for repairs couldn’t afford to pay the job.

“I felt bad for these people. [Chester] told me he would be in touch, ”said Amaro, owner of Superior Plumbing Solutions LLC. “It was turbulent.”

Pitts called Mercilus and Reid and together the trio worked to collect plumbing and money to help 50 to 70 Houston residents without water because the pipes burst.

“We connected: me, Whit and Justin and we were like hey, that’s something we can do,” said Pitts.

Together they make a difference.

“Isn’t that cool the way it works sometimes,” said Pitts.
