Fleece to scarf demonstration

Weaver’s Cabin of Harmony is holding a Fleece to Shawl demonstration on June 5th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the grounds of Weaver’s Cabin in Historic Harmony.

Three teams of five members each take part in a competition that usually begins with a competition, in which each team works with a sheep’s clothing.

Spectators can watch team members work against the clock to prepare the fleece by carding the fibers and spinning them into yarn. Looms will be set up and each team will weave the yarn into beautiful cloths in each team’s design. The teams show their own themes, and their clothes and colors follow their chosen themes.

During an auction at the end of the screening and the following week, viewers have the opportunity to vote for their favorite scarf and team and to bid on their favorite scarves.

The scarves will be on display in the Wunder Bar of Harmony from June 8th to 13th. Part of the proceeds will go to Historic Harmony.
