Lenoir County road to temporarily close for pipe replacement — Neuse News

KINSTON – A road south of Kinston is slated to close due to a pipe replacement project.

Starting Monday at 8:00 a.m., Parker Fork Road near Lightwood Knot Road will be closed to traffic for NC Department of Transportation crews to replace a bridge-sized pipe. The road is expected to be released again on September 3 at 5 p.m.

If necessary, drivers can use Rusty Lee, Bill Becton and Lightwood Knot streets as a detour.

Although the impact on traffic is expected to be small, drivers are still encouraged to take more time to commute. NCDOT also encourages drivers to exercise caution around the work area.

For real-time travel information, visit DriveNC.gov or follow NCDOT on social media.
