Letters: Paying for training people for plumbing, electrician jobs would pay off | Letters

It has long been established that the GI bill from World War II paid off due to the higher income taxes of the recipients. A little analysis would show that the proposed two years of Community College would do the same, provided that those years focused on learning a craft as was originally intended.

Anyone who has hired a plumber or an electrician knows that their income is well above that of auxiliary workers. In other words, two years of professional training would have been an investment, not a hassle.

One wonders how much of the Congressional arguments are factual as opposed to assumptions and unsupported opinions.
