Oswego mayor announces plumbing, electrical licensing exams scheduled | Business

OSWEGO – Mayor Billy Barlow announced that the City of Oswego is planning license exams for master plumbers, plumbers and master electricians in order to obtain a license to do business in the city of Oswego.

The reviews follow several changes the city made to the licensing process. They make it possible to keep the sanitary tests open, to provide a sanitary license for private households for the first time and to define a permanent application period and an approval process.

The master plumber exam will take place on January 27, 2021 at 5 p.m. on the third floor of Oswego City Hall. All applications and information on how to take the exam are available online at www.oswegony.org under Employment Applications or from the Enforcement, Engineering or City Code Personnel and must be submitted by Monday, December 14th.

“To make plumbing more accessible and affordable, we’ve made a residential license exam available to plumbers who specialize in residential plumbing. The new license will allow more plumbers to work in our community so that our citizens don’t have to wait that long for basic plumbing, ”said Mayor Billy Barlow. “We’re also making the plumbing exam an open audit to ensure that eligible applicants are given a fair, transparent opportunity to obtain a license to work in our town,” said Barlow.

The master electrician exam will take place on January 27, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room on the second floor of the town hall. All applications and information for the exam are available online at www.oswegony.org under “Applications for Recruitment” or from Code Enforcement, Engineering, or the Human Resources Office and must be submitted by Monday, December 14th.

Our new test procedure ensures that applicants receive an appropriate aptitude test, that a transparent test procedure is carried out and that applicants receive a passable test.
