Out-of-state plumbers to assist with Texas winter storm damage

Greg Abbott, Texas Governor of HOUSTON (CW39) says Texans are on their way with broken pipes in response to damage from winter storm damage.

Severe weather, expected in the coming days, is likely to cause pipe damage to homes and apartments across the state exposed to freezing temperatures for many Texans.

The main storm that wreaked havoc in Texas is now beginning to leave the state of Texas. Snow and sleet in northeast Texas will continue to exist, but will also gradually move away. After that, another round of precipitation will come over the state in the next 24 hours.

In the next few days, cold temperatures will prevail in large parts of the state, which will affect the pipes of houses and buildings.

Most of the state will be below freezing along I-10 and north of I-10 on Thursday morning and will freeze through Thursday evening with ultra-cold temperatures on Thursday evening.

To help repair piping across the state, the governor said, “Texas law has already authorized the plumbing department to issue preliminary licenses to non-state plumbers.”

The Texas state government is also working with the Board of Plumbing Examiners to make sure this happens.

In relation to this permit, the state is also working to introduce an exemption for plumbers. If they were previously licensed plumbers but haven’t completed any further education in the past two years, you can apply for a Texas state plumbing license to help with those hit by the winter storm.
