Pipe replacement requires road closure in eastern Rowan – Salisbury Post

ROCKWELL – – Part of a rural road in Rowan County is slated to close next week while a drainpipe below it is being replaced.

Liberty Road is said to be closed about a quarter of a mile north of Hill Road starting Monday at 8 a.m. The work is expected to take a few days but is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.

If the rainwater no longer flows properly through the pipe, it will need to be replaced to prevent damage to the pavement and adjacent properties.

While crews are working, traffic will be diverted along Hill Road, St. Peters Church Road and Stokes Ferry Road to give access points on either side of the closure.

Drivers should watch out for crews entering and leaving the work zone and include the detour in their commute.
