NC Department of Transportation contractor making improvements to NC 24 in Clinton is required to close a section of a nearby road overnight Monday.
Sunset Avenue is slated to close this Monday, September 28, between 7 p.m. and Tuesday, September 29, at 6 a.m. on the east side of the US 421/701 and NC 24 interchange and Woodland Drive. The exchange with NC 24 remains open to traffic. The law enforcement authorities will be closed to direct traffic if necessary.
The contract teams will replace a cross pipe with a large pipe at this point. This construction is part of ongoing work to upgrade NC 24 off Sunset Avenue west of Moltonville Road in Sampson County.
Drivers should avoid this area if possible and exercise caution when driving in the work zone and drive more slowly.
