KINSTON – A section of a Lenoir County road will be closed for about two weeks while the NC Department of Transportation crews replace a pipe.

Southwood Road, between Summrel and Elijah Loftin Streets, will be closed from 8:00 a.m. on Monday. During the closure, the crews will replace a bridge-sized pipe. Construction is expected to be completed by 5pm on June 18th. Drivers will be diverted to Summrel Road, Elijah Loftin Road, and NC 58 to be on either side of Southwood Road.

While minimal delays are expected, drivers should allow additional time to drive and be careful around the work area.
