HINGHAM, CROWD. (WHDH) – A man is being prosecuted after police allege he stole more than $ 60,000 worth of plumbing and electrical supplies from an Amazon warehouse currently under renovation in Hingham.

The 40-year-old Michael J. Ryan from Plymouth was charged on Monday with, among other things, burglary and intrusion at night, theft from a building, property destruction, trespassing and possession of class B and E substances, according to the Hingham Police Department.

Officials responding to a report of a massive theft at 100 Industrial Park Road on the morning of March 1 found hinges sheared off a locked gate, according to the Hingham Police Department.

Investigators say Ryan used a trailer-attached vehicle to enter the warehouse and that he painted the windows to prevent anyone from looking inside.

Ryan then reportedly used a forklift and mechanical elevator to remove all of the copper tubing installed in the ceilings and to move pallets containing 36 coils of electrical wire. Locked tool containers belonging to several contractors were also broken into and searched.

In total, Ryan robbed the warehouse of $ 27,500 and $ 18,700 worth of plumbing supplies
$ 17,250 worth of electrical supplies and tools, police said.

Ryan was arrested at his home at 5:15 a.m. on Monday and reportedly in possession of Suboxone and Xanax pills.

An investigation is still ongoing.
