Quick-Lock remains key to pipe repair

Sewer Equipment Company (Aust), or better known as SECA, is Australia’s leading supplier of cleaning, testing, inspection and rehabilitation equipment for sewers and sewers.

The company offers the Quick-Lock solution for structural, trenchless pipe rehabilitation.

The Quick-Lock system has revolutionized sewer rehabilitation with its wide range of applications and high reliability.

The Quick-Lock system made of heavy stainless steel 316 with infiltration protection and an EPDM rubber seal seals and stabilizes damage completely mechanically, makes chemicals superfluous and suitable for all pipe materials.

The patented locking system ensures that the socket remains permanently in position and that the socket has its own static ability after the renovation and absorbs the natural tectonic movements of the pipe.

The system can be used for stand-alone permanent point repairs or for pre-liner stabilization work including high groundwater infiltration.

Quick-Lock sleeves restore the structural integrity of a pipe and seal off the groundwater. They have been carefully designed to minimize the loss of diameter and to outlast any other renovation.

For larger pipes, SECA offers the Quick-Lock BIG socket, which permanently seals leaky pipe connections, radial cracks and longitudinal cracks in large pipes and manholes from DN800.

The BIG sleeves are 20 cm wide and the system consists of V4A stainless steel of quality class 1.4404 (AISI 316L) and an EPDM compression seal.

These materials are permanently resistant in municipal sewage systems, while their suitability for use in industrial or polluted sewage must be proven.

On the field

SureSearch has over 20 years of corporate operations providing all aspects of utility investigations including location, non-destructive excavation, utility surveying, mapping and collision detection, CCTV inspections, sewer cleaning, and pipe rehabilitation.

Calyn Wilkinson, director of sales and development at SureSearch, said the company was relatively new to pipe rehabilitation and thought the use of the Quick-Lock system would be a good entry into the market.

“SureSearch has used the Quick-Lock system for both sewer and rainwater remediation,” he said.

“It was used to seal joints, holes and also to seep through cracks.

“Due to the fast assembly time and the lack of material hardening, it has a major advantage over the cured-in-place tube (CIPP) process.

“More installations can be achieved in one shift, and if traffic control is required, this limits the amount of money spent on traffic control shifts.”

Quick-lock end caps reinforce a CIPP liner at its most sensitive points – the ends.

This mechanical solution prevents the infiltration or exfiltration of liners and old pipes during the life of a tight-fitting liner.

It’s especially effective on EX, spiral, and UV cured liners, and is stronger and easier to install than other end caps, making it extremely beneficial in any long-term waterproof lining project.

Quick-Lock systems can be purchased from SECA’s warehouses or from SECA’s nationwide sales staff.
