Seattle, Wash. – World Plumbing Day 2021 was celebrated on March 11th by plumbers around the world. The annual event celebrates the vital work that plumbers do every day. World Installation Day also helps to gain a better understanding of how the plumbing industry protects the health and safety of the public, preserves communities, and protects the environment through safe sanitary practices.
World Plumbing Day was launched in 2010 by a team from the World Plumbing Council (WPC). The council worked with both the US Congress and the US Senate to pass a bipartisan resolution duly declaring March 11th as World Plumbing Day. This year, plumbers around the world celebrated the special day with educational events, competitions, seminars, and various other covid-friendly activities.
In a statement to the World Plumbing Council, President of the United States, Joe Biden, paid tribute to the essential services that plumbers provide. He said, “Today we honor the hardworking plumbers and other trained professionals who work tirelessly to bring water that drips from our highest mountains and our deepest aquifers into our homes and offices. These workers sew communities together and help connect all people to this precious natural resource. Access to clean water and effective wastewater treatment systems is the right of every community … “
