Recall Issued for White-Rodgers ll Intellivent Natural Gas and Propane Control Vales

Health Canada issued a recall for White-Rodgers Gen II Intellivent Natural Gas and Propane Control Valves manufactured between May 21, 2018 and September 30, 2018.

The recall relates to White-Rodgers Gen II Intellivent natural gas and propane control valves installed on certain models of Giant and Gemco natural gas and propane water heaters. Recalled products can present a carbon monoxide leak hazard.

The control valves in question are model numbers 37H73A-301 (natural gas) and 37H74A-301 (propane) and have date codes between 1821 and 1839, inclusive. The control valve model number and date code are located on a label on the right side of the bracket holding the control valve stops on the water heater.

Anyone who owns this product is asked to contact their landlord or the manufacturer of the water heater, who will arrange for the control valve to be replaced by a certified technician.
