Saffron Walden tools collection is a success

In order to do justice to the success of a tool collection, an extra transporter was brought in.

In just three hours, over a ton of unwanted tools were brought to the collection point in the Saffron Walden Common parking garage.

Project organizer David Peasgood of the Rotary Club of Saffron Walden collected tools on behalf of the Tools with a Mission (TWAM) charity.

All types of tools were accepted, including household, gardening, auto, construction, plumbing, electrical, knitting and sewing machines, and working IT equipment.

The Rotary Club of Cambridge South also donated tools to the Saffron Walden Collection.

The tools were brought to TWAM’s warehouse in Ipswich, where they are reconditioned, sorted into trade packages and sent to developing countries.

Mr. Peasgood said, “Rotary in Saffron Walden would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to bring their unwanted tools to our van.”
