Scottish woman’s washing machine explodes during cycles, wrecks her kitchen

A Scottish woman had the shock of her life when her washing machine exploded mid-cycle and her kitchen was destroyed.

Entrepreneur Laura Birrell shared pictures of the disaster on Facebook on Sunday March 28, saying her device exploded through her kitchen countertop and warned people not to go out with machines on.

“I’ve heard many times that you don’t leave your washing machine on when you leave the house. Well today I’m glad I didn’t go anywhere when my machine literally exploded. With a glass washer, I thought a bomb had gone off, glass everywhere. “

While it is not certain what exactly caused the device to explode, Birrell told Metro that the machine drum exploded and that it intends to bring the incident to the attention of the manufacturer.

Many who came across Birrell’s post on Facebook described the incident as “frightening”. Check out some of the responses here:

According to the news website, a spokesman for the manufacturer, Whirlpool, responded and reached out to the family to initiate an investigation.

“Our thoughts go with the residents affected by this incident and we are investigating the situation. We spoke to the customer and one of our engineers will visit the property this Wednesday to understand what has happened urgently, “the company said in a statement.
