NEWTON GROVE, NC (WWAY) – A section of a Sampson County freeway is slated to close to traffic next week while the NC Department of Transportation replaces a broken pipe.
NC 50 near William R. King Road will be closed to through traffic between Tuesday 8:00 a.m. and Wednesday 5:00 p.m. During closing, NCDOT removes and replaces a faulty pipe under the pavement. The crews will replace the pipe with a larger one to avoid future maintenance problems.
Those who have to take care of the work will use US 701, Interstate 40 and William R. King Road.
Drivers should plan ahead as their commutes may take longer than normal and exercise caution when driving near the structure.
