Septic bid awarded for Sheriff’s Office – Daily Bulldog

FARMINGTON – Franklin County commissioners held a special meeting on Tuesday, October 12th to open tenders for a septic project at the sheriff’s department complex. The meeting was held outside the regular schedule so that work on the project could start as soon as possible before the ground froze. Three bids were made, one from Harris Septic for $ 12,080, one from CH Stevenson Inc. for $ 16,025, and one from CCC Construction LLC for $ 9,550.

Commissioners Brann and Barker opened the offers and then turned them over to Road Supervisor Mike Pond for review. Taking into account the required specification, Pond chose the lowest bid from CCC Construction.

The commissioners checked the offers and awarded the contract to CCC Construction.

Mike Pond reported to the commissioners about a bridge on Schoolhouse Road in the municipality of Madrid. A landowner has requested that the county repair the bridge; Pond could not find any clear documentation on who is responsible for the bridge. The records of the city of Madrid were lost in a fire and the state did not register the bridge. The commissioners agreed to renovate the bridge using five wooden mats the county already owns and to purchase an additional mat, as long as the landowner agrees to take ownership of the bridge after repairs are complete.
