Sewer system inspection work starting Dec. 8

LIHU’E – The public’s attention is drawn to the fact that the contractor of the Wastewater Management Department of the Public Works Department will conduct inspections of the CChu sewage collection system under the video surveillance system (CCTV) from December 8th to 15th.

Manholes are used to access the sewer line and deploy the camera. The contractor is expected to be at a manhole for between one and four hours. The purpose of the inspections is to assess the condition of the sewers and manholes in the area.

The inspections will be carried out in subdivisions 1, 2 and 3 of Lihu’e Gardens. The inspections will also be conducted on the following streets: Umi Street, Hardy Street, Rice Street, Aukele Street and Peleke Street. The inspections are carried out between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the day

Traffic control with flags is implemented in the work areas.

Drivers should drive with caution, expect delays and adjust their travel times as necessary.
