The Department of Transportation announced the closure of Thompsons Bridge Road between Guyencourt Road and Woodlawn Road in Wilmington from August 17 to August 31 to remove and replace an intersection pipe.
Residents have access to their homes but may need to use the signposted detour routes.
Access to Brandywine Creek State Park remains open, but only from the south.
For those traveling south, turn left on Route 100 / Montchanin Road, turn right on Smiths Bridge Road, and then turn right again on Creek Road. Motorists heading north should turn right on Creek Road, left on Smiths Bridge Road, and left on Route 100 / Montchanin Road.
Detour signs will be attached.
