Three-year-old girl dies after falling into septic tank at campsite

Police pulled the little girl’s body from the camp’s septic tank and took her to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead later that night

A three-year-old girl fell into a septic tank on a campsite and was killed in a “devastating accident”.

Police rushed to Sun Outdoors Cape May campground in Lower Township, New Jersey and pulled the toddler out of the sewer system on Saturday night.

She was taken to the Cape Regional Medical Center but tragically pronounced dead later that night, local media reported.

The cause of death is still being determined, but officials said they do not suspect a “foul play” and believe it was an accident.

Prosecutors and local police are closely investigating how the little girl died.

They are still waiting for the final report of their autopsy, which was done on Sunday morning.
