TRI is accepting applications for home repair funds

The Resource, for Community and Economic Development, Inc. (TRI) announced in a press release that it is accepting applications for the Edgartown and Oak Bluffs Fiscal Year 2020 Household Rehabilitation Program.

TRI has been selected to provide grant funding for the community development block on behalf of the cities of Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. The organization is currently accepting applications for the FY20 scholarship season. In the towns of Aquinnah, Chilmark, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, and West Tisbury, the funds will be given in the form of a deferred grant to income-earning year-round residents who perform critical first-come-first-serve home repairs.

Critical repairs include, but are not limited to: replacing broken roofs, heating and sewage treatment systems, energy efficient windows, siding, electrical and plumbing repairs, along with reducing the dangers of lead paint and remodeling the house for handicapped accessibility.

Contact TRI for more information and a full application. The community response to this program has always been strong, the announcement said, and the group typically receives more qualified applicants than available funds. Hence, they encourage you to apply now. The staff are available for questions and support throughout the process.
