TO UPDATE – A section of Mechanicsville Road, southeast of the intersection with Yowaiski Mill Road, which was closed to pipe replacement in November, has reopened and through traffic is allowed.

LEONARDTOWN, Md. – A section of Mechanicsville Road will be closed on or about Monday, November 22, 2021 to replace pipes southeast of the intersection with Yowaiski Mill Road.

Through traffic is not allowed because the road is blocked. Electronic signposts and detour signs are provided to provide directions to unknown drivers.
Motorists traveling west on MD-234 will be directed to MD-236 (Thompson Corner Road), Lockes Crossing Road, and Old Village Road.

Motorists heading east on MD-234 will be directed to MD-238 (Chaptico Road), Baptist Church Road, and Old Village Road.

Please follow the designated diversions and proceed carefully. This section of Mechanicsville Road is closed for approximately 30 days, depending on the weather:
