WASA: Repairs underway after burst pipe in Piparo

The water and sewage authorities announced that repairs are being carried out at the Navet water treatment plant.

A statement from the Authority today said that customers in parts of southeastern Trinidad served by the Navet water treatment plant may experience an interruption in their water supply in pipelines due to damage to the authority’s transmission Pipeline system on St. Johns Road in Piparo that occurred during a vehicle accident on Sunday March 21st.

Emergency repairs currently in progress are expected to be completed by 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Areas affected are:

Princes Town, New Grant, Fifth Company, Craignish Village, Matilda, St. Julien, Indian Walk, Hindustan, St. Mary’s Village, Moruga, Whiteland, Piparo, Iere Village, Buen Intento, Williamsville, Barrackpore, Clarke Road, Debe, Corinth , Mount Stewart, Bronte, Borde Narve and Reform Village.

Customers are cautioned that once the facility has resumed, it may take up to 24 hours for planned water supplies to normalize in some affected areas.

The authorities apologize for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
