Well and Septic System Maintenance Workshop | Calendar

Get Septic Certified and Save Money

Clark County, WA – Do you have a gravity fed sewer system? Did you know Clark County requires you to have your gravity fed sewer system checked every 3 years? Starting March 24th, you will be able to attend an online webinar where you can check out the system yourself instead of hiring a professional to do it. The workshop is taught by Clark County Public Health and teaches attendees how to inspect their septic tanks and safely maintain their well water. By completing the workshop and a short exam, participants are certified for a one-time inspection of their sewage system.

It costs about $ 100 to have a professional inspect your wastewater treatment plant. Certification in our class costs just $ 15, saving homeowners money. “Certification is also a good long-term investment, and attendees will learn to identify problems more quickly so they can be resolved rather than having to consider costly system replacements, says Terry Koper, program coordinator.”

The Small Acreage program, jointly sponsored by Washington State University’s Clark County Extension and Clark County Public Works Clean Water, provides information, handouts, and answers landowners’ questions during the workshop.
