REDDITOR CATCHES HUSBAND RESTORED

On the morning of the incident, MammaBearit33 went out to buy groceries. She explained that in the past, the couple usually shared their parenting responsibilities. She did “big chores” (feeding, changing diapers and bathing) while he did the “smaller” chores (tidying up and rearranging sheets / blankets).

The sound of her crying baby greeted her when she returned, and the mother immediately hurried to see what was happening. Then she caught her husband trying to bathe her son in the kitchen sink. And although Jessica Zablan, owner of The Birth & Baby Company, says it’s safe, Redditor didn’t think of it at the time.

“It is also more convenient for parents to stand by the washbasin than to lean over a bathtub”

THE COUPLE HEATED EXCHANGE

The angry woman called her husband “rude” for trying to bathe her son in the sink and then took her son out. Then she told him it was not his job to bathe him and forbade him ever to do it again, but their argument didn’t end there.

The other community members shared similar stories about their experience with sinks. Most of them either had used one on their own children or knew people who did.

Her husband called MammaBearit33 “selfish” and “controlling”. In the heat of the moment, the Redditor hit her husband for his attitude and told him to “stop whining”. When she wrote the post, the couple did not speak to each other.

REDDITORS TELL YOU

MammaBearit33 received a lot of backlash from the Reddit community for their handling of the situation. Most thought the husband had done nothing wrong and told her that it was common for children to bathe in the sink. After reading the comments, she came back and added:

“I’m sorry, but I had no idea it was common to bathe babies in kitchen sinks (?). Strange because literally no one in my family has done it. Now I understand why my husband said it was normal . “

Most of the Redditors weren’t happy with the way she treated him. In the comments, they suggested that she apologize to her husband for what she did and take steps to make amends.

SOME PARENTS REGULARLY BATH THEIR CHILDREN IN THE SINK

“I don’t know a single friend of mine who doesn’t have ‘sink’ pictures from when he was a baby. I did it for my girls.”

The other community members shared similar stories about their experience with sinks. Most of them either had used one on their own children or knew people who did. They all shared positive experiences with the practice.

Is it safe to bathe children in the sink?

MammaBearit33 wasn’t the only Redditor worried about bathing kids in the sink. Reddit user whimsical_potatoes also had concerns about doing this as she was preparing for her baby’s arrival.

At the time of the post, whimsical_potatoes was 36 weeks pregnant and was looking forward to meeting their soon-to-be newborn baby. The couple had multiple cats, and she was concerned that her baby was bathing in the same bathroom where they kept their litter boxes, so she considered using the sink as an alternative.

She asked the congregation for advice. Her main concern was whether the chemicals she used in the kitchen every day would affect her newborn if she bathed the baby in the sink.

The reactions to the article were mostly positive. Some parishioners assured her that they had no negative experiences bathing their children in the kitchen sink.

We live in a two room apartment and have several cats. Your litter boxes are in the bathroom and the room is poorly ventilated. I can hardly stand it, let alone the baby.

One user claimed that the use of chemicals did not harm the newborn “as long as it was flushed thoroughly”. They then shared their own experiences and how their mother used to bathe them in the sink without any problems.

THE CATS WERE THE PROBLEM

Most of the Redditors were more concerned with the living situation of the user than with bathing the child in the sink. They didn’t think it was a safe environment to raise a newborn baby.

As she explained, “We live in a two-room apartment and have several cats. Their litter boxes are in the bathroom and it’s a poorly ventilated room. I can’t stand it, let alone the baby.”

The Reddit user advised her to get rid of the cats before the baby came. After going through all of the suggestions, the user edited her original post, adding:

“For everyone involved, I will now deal with the cat situation. Wish me luck!”

As it turns out, many parents often bathe their young children in sinks. They even said their kids enjoy it. When she found out, MammaBearit33 realized that she had made a mistake and regretted her actions. What do you think of this Redditors story? Leave a comment and let us know.
